Designed: The TPU and glass Fibre Shank provides the necessary firmness for the unique sole construction typical of Masai Barefoot Technology. It also ensures a natural rolling movement of the foot with every step and optimizes pressure distribution over the whole sole. The balancing section integrated in the PU midsole underneath the metatarsus requires an active rolling movement with every step and activates a large number of stabilising muscles in the whole body both when walking and even standing. PU Midsole with Pivot. The Elliptical section underneath the heel - The Masai Sensor creates the pleasant feeling of walking on a sandy beach or a mossy surface. And it produces the natural instability that causes the body to react with increased muscle activity. Product Specifications: Uppers: Firm grain leather uppers that provide a scratch resistant tough surface while maintaining a soft velvety feel. Lining: MBT Dry and Cool lining that allows breathability and assists with moisture management, quick drying and antimicrobial. Microfibre lining is a good alternative to leather for it holds form well and is exceptionally soft. The 3D Mesh lining ensures cooler and drier feet. Outsole: The rubber outsole are made of 20 different compounds and provide a perfect compromise between grip and durability. MBT's should fit the foot perfectly. MBT's don't let your foot slide forward with every step, like normal shoes do, they pull your heel back instead. For this reason, MBT's should never be bought too large. It's alright for the tips of your toes to be almost touching the edge of the shoe. MBT usage should be between 1/2 to 2 hours per day for the first week, and then gradually building up the time, until the MBT can be comfortably worn for over 2 hours, by which time muscle activation and proprioceptive feedback are sufficiently attuned to wear the MBT all day, every day. If applied as a medical or therapeutic tool, make sure you refer to a health specialist. The amount of time you are able to tolerate wearing the shoes will depend on your initial level of fitness and health.
