This course introduces the student to the Basics of SPSS version 16. It includes 1.Understanding the user interface 2.The SPSS Tool Bar 3. Data Entry 4.Data Manipulation 5.How to create and edit tables and charts in SPSS 6.How to use SPSS to compute basic descriptive statistics 7.How to use SPSS to compare Groups using the mean At the end of the course the student should be able to identify the various aspects of the SPSS user interface. Successfully code variables and enter data into SPSS for further manipulation. Additionally the student will be able to produce appropriate descriptive statistics and present data in an acceptable manner, in the form of a chart or graph where required. This course will prepare the student to move onto Advanced Data Analysis using SPSS. This course also provides the student with some basic insight into descriptive statistics-mean, median and mode.
