Position Overview

This position will report to the Global Commodity Risk Management Lead and support the Direct Materials procurement team. This individual will also perform special assignments and tasks at the request of the Director of Direct Materials. The Direct Materials team is responsible for sourcing the following raw materials: glass, rubber, resins, plastic components, corrugate, cartonboard, and labels. Commodity risk management is responsible for developing commodity price forecasts for Hospiras key raw materials. Using these price forecasts, risk management estimates financial impacts to budgets, and develops strategies to manage and mitigate negative dollar impacts resulting from rising commodity prices. These strategies may include forward purchases, hedging with commodity derivative contracts and/or hedging through suppliers.








Specific Responsibilities


* Support Direct Materials team in a variety of data driven activities, primary responsibility will be data management and data analysis

* Assist team in preparing monthly financial budget reports and Purchase Price Variances

* Support Sourcing Managers on strategic sourcing projects

* Create reports from SAP and other MRP systems

* Create power point presentations for senior management

* Develop raw material should cost models / statistical models

* Research commodity market trends, review industry reports, monitor pricing indices

* Issue purchase orders for a variety of direct materials to acquire samples for special projects

* Resolve supplier invoice discrepancy issues










Skills/Experience Education/Certification







Qualifications and Experience


* 3 + years experience in a data management/financial analyst role

* Bachelors degree in purchasing, finance or business administration

* General knowledge of Procurement, Supply Chain and Manufacturing

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Highly skilled in data analysis, comfortable working with large spreadsheets and databases, expertise in Excel, pivot tables, macros and Power Point

* Exposure to financial analysis in a procurement environment preferred

* Experience with supply contracts, contract terms, pricing adjustments and invoices

* Knowledge of financial modeling, developing should cost models/statistical models

* Ability to manage a project from initial stages to completion

* Experience working with SAP and other MRP systems

* General knowledge of commodity markets and raw material price indices
