Role synopsis
A number of Electrical Engineer positions are available for Azerbaijani citizens with engineering experience in this discipline. At a range of levels, Electrical Engineers will be responsible for delivering specialist technical support and assurance for electrical hardware and software systems whether it is for onshore, offshore topsides, hull or subsea systems.


Key accountabilities
-Delivery and assure high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems packages and equipment
-Specify, select, install and commission electrical equipment plus concept design. E.g. electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, protection systems and utilisation (e.g. large electric drive systems
-Electrical hazard and reliability analysis
-Use specialist software to conduct power system analysis and protection coordination 
-Electrical system troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis
-Lead new technology development, qualification and management of field trials
-Develop the technical basis for regulatory permits and/or contractual negotiations
-Coordinate electrical technical reviews for production partners
-Contribute to BP’s category 12 internal electrical Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs)
-Contribute to the development of industry standards and practices, e.g. EEMUA Electrical Committee, EI and/or IEEE and API
-Provide technical guidance on application of codes, standards, project design criteria and ETPs


Essential Education
-Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related discipline


Essential experience and job requirements
-Minimum 4 year experience with electrical systems such as
-Electrical power generation, transmission and distribution
-Protection systems
-Large electric drive systems
-Electrical system analysis tools
-Knowledge of Electrical Safety Practices and \or IEC safety regulations


Other essential skills and knowledge
-Chartered/Professional Engineer preferred
-Working knowledge of industry and government standards such as EEMUA Electrical Committee, EI and/or IEEE and API

-Must be a motivated self-starter, an excellent communicator and be able to work with all levels of management, engineers and field operations staff
-Strong team player with the ability to stand alone in challenging situations
