Job description
The Associate Practice Leader is responsible for end:to:end execution of a consulting domain, from sales through solution design, to delivery and closure of relevant follow:on business. The Associate Practice Leader role serves several key business development and IT management consulting leadership roles supporting the IBM IT Strategy and Architecture Service Product Line practice. At the core of the role is to help lead, manage and improve the ITSA management consulting practice, focused on working with clients IT Transformation and Optimization and IT Service Management planning needs.

The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, consultative presence and leadership, and team leadership as well as domain knowledge in the area of ITT and O and ITSM.

Specific responsibilities include:
Leadership (perform and mentoring) on consulting engagement pursuits; oversight of consulting engagement delivery
Manage teams of technically focused architects and service management consultants
Practice leadership and capability growth; and administration and operational activities required of the ITSA SPL

Pursuit responsibility includes participating in client opportunity identification and qualification calls, understanding client needs and objectives, articulate and formulate Solution Designs for proposals and statements of work that align to the client needs while managing delivery risk and working with the sales team through deal progression and signing.
Annual signings target of 4:5M per year with an added requirement for generating downstream work.

Engagement oversight responsibilities include following the ITS Delivery Roadmap for successful project execution. This includes working with RDMs (Resource Deployment Managers) to assemble consulting project teams, assisting project leadership (i.e., project manager or engagement leader) in defining or modifying project approach and structure as necessary, deliverables review and participation in key project events as appropriate to help ensure Delivery Excellence. Project oversight also includes monitoring financial and project health and developing remediation approaches as needed.

People management responsibilities include implementation of programs such as career development, performance appraisals, compensation planning, recruiting and hiring, as well as resource deployment including use of Global Resources, solution design and sourcing.
